In Asia, chili not only serves as a delicacy, but as a crude but effective
insecticide. The Asians would hang the chilies under the hot sun and dry
them deliberately. It is generally believed that by putting the dried
chilies onto uncooked paddy, it could keep the rice weevil away
effectually. Other usage includes hanging the chilly on fluorescent lights
to chase away fireflies. When I walked past the field, I was fascinated by
such process, so I took one out and get this shot.
