In regards to aci.  The fight on the rec yard was just that, a fight not a riot.  These are the conditions we work in and its unfortunate but its what we do.  I personally know everyone involved and none are from fsp, new river.  This had nothing to do with frank valdez.

As far as controlled movement is concerned it was in effect prior to Col. Frye's arrival it was just never enforced.  The yellow lines have been added since his arrival which I for one am all for.

As far as people from fsp/newriver being promoted to captain this is false.  There are 3 fairly new captains.  one has 20 yrs with aci and river junction,  1 came from jackson ci and has been with the department for several years.  and the other was a sergeant at aci east unit for several years now.  Two sgts, 1 with 24yrs at aci, and 1 with 15-18yrs here have been promoted to Lt.  I don't want to throw their names out but I have known these people for several years and all have earned their rank.  There are a few who came here with Col Frye and that is to be expected.  Do some research people, that is all I ask.

Hi S, it is good to talk.  I'm having trouble agreeing with you that the ACI incident with 200 on the rec field, 100 hastily moved, 52 charged, and 11 officers injured was just a 'fight on the rec yard', but it doesn't really matter what we call it, all those inmates are facing severe retaliation.  I don't know if you know anything about errant guards and their methods of revenge, but many of us do and agree it's against the law and morally wrong.

Nearly all the information I got on the Apalachee Incident came from officers and reporters who talked to the prison the day it happened.  We are continuing to do our own investigation on the incident, the officers and the prisoners involved. With all the reports of the general condition of the department, it's administration and errant guards (as opposed to officers), I feel it is important to study this situation and it's aftermath to minimize the harms that could get people hurt.

Thank you for your views.
