In 2002 master-craftsman Richard Amy, the President
of the Australian Viking Ships Museum, created a full-scale replica
of the 6.5 metre faering that was buried together with the Gokstad
ship.
Here he is shown in his workshop in August 2002, before
the faering was fully completed.
The finished faering has subsequently undergone its appropriate
sea-trials. It is now on permanent loan to the AVSM, and is an integral
part of the museum.
