Cancer

I've been touched by cancer in a lot of ways. It's very hard to write about but it's also very important that as many people as possible become aware of the risks and warning signs.

I'll be adding more links to this page very soon & I hope you'll use them if you need them. But for now -- I'm going to ask you for two favors: 1) always wear sun screen and 2) women -- please get regular mammograms!!!!

By the way, my mom's doing fine. No sign of the cancer returning. But that doesn't mean it won't. We know that. And so does my friend, Diane.

Ten years ago Diane had a very rare form of cancer but came through it with flying colors although it looked rather bleak for quite a while. On her 10-year anniversary check up, the doctors found a lump. What was supposed to be a day of celebrating 10 years of being cancer free, ended up being the beginning of a fight with breast cancer. She won that one too.

I can't begin to write about all the people who've fought with cancer and inspired me -- but they know who they are. And I'm sure what they'd want me to do more than talk about them, is help educate others.

That's the plan.
