John Henry Day

My Direct Line: John Henry Day (fisherman) b. ca 1808 in Jeddore, Canada,
married Christiana Drady ca. 1829. Issues were:  John, James, Rachel,
Christiana, Henry David, Eve, Andrew William, Alfred Adam.

Henry David (seaman, hunter) b. 4/26/1843, Ship Harbor, Canada, married
Elizabeth Warnell 11/14/1864 at St. George's, Halifax.  Issues were:  Louisa
Elizabeth, Daniel Henry, Willoughby Melvin, Emmeline, Wallace Melvin,
Alexander, Annabelle, Edward William, Thomas Frederick Barron, Helena Rose
(there might have been more).

Thomas Frederick Barron Day b. 10/7/1883, Oyster Pond, Canada, married Sarah
Frances Rendell 12/17/1912.  Issues were:  Percival Benjamin, Vera
Millicent, Hollis Frederick Elwyn, Otto Willard.  There was a daughter Mary
Elizabeth born to Sarah out of wedlock, father unknown.  Uncertain if Thomas
legally adopted Mary.

[1] Percival Benjamin (owned children's clothing business with second wife)
b. 10/17/1910, married a) Virginia Terrell, b) Vera Ambrose.  No issues.

[2]  Vera Millicent (housewife who married a cardiologist) b. 3/8/12 married
Ralph Durkee in Connecticut ? 1940.  Issues are:  Donald, Leslie.

[3] Hollis Frederick Elwyn Daye (engineer at GE as well as owning his own
small machine shop)(my Grandfather Thomas put an "e" on end.  There are two
stories: wanted to change his name so it would not appear Irish; he was one
step ahead of the law leaving Canada) b. 3/8/14 in Halifax, NS, married
Dorothy Spear b. 1/13/15 in Lynn, MA.  Hollis d. 5/26/93.  Issues are:
Sandra Lee, Linda Ann, Suzanne Muriel (me!), and Frederick Hollis.

[4]  Otto Willard (Major, Air Force-fought in WW2 and Korean) b. 8/30/15 in
Halifax, NS, married Elizabeth Cameron around 1940.  Otto died 3/24/77.  His
issues:  Maureen Elizabeth, Thomas Rendell, James Cameron.

My grandfather Thomas Frederick was jack of all trades.  He made violins,
and I actually met someone who has one in Canada, was a lumberman, barber
(hired the first lady barber in Halifax), carpenter.  His cousin Vernard, is
still living in Jeddore, NS, in a house that was built and owned by Henry
David.  Vern also has my ggrandather's gun and canes.
