REPLY:Re: NOVA SCOTIA DAYS
 Monday, 12-Apr-99 21:02:36

I was doing some research at the N.S. Archives (University Ave. in Halifax)
on my wife's family tree while visiting N.S. last year and thought I would
check out the "Days" (my side) just in case. I was astounded at the amount
of material on the Days from Jeddore(family trees incl if I recall). There was
certainly a lot on a John Day who I remember was a prominent figure in the
literature. Unfortunately this branch of the Day clan had no distinct connection
with my own family roots so I did not record nor retain the info. If you are in
or near Halifax its definitely worth a visit. You will probably find the answer
that you seek.

Have fun.

Looking for Ancestors of Barnabas Day
  Tuesday, 16-Feb-99 22:53:26

I'm looking for information on the parents and ancestors of
Barnabas Day, who was born on or about 03 June 1745 in New York State.
His wife, Polly Burdett, was of french descent and they had 4 children
(Lewis, Barnabas Jr., David and Hannah). Barnabas was United Empire Loyalist,
as were most of his early descendants, who eventually settled in
Kingston Ontario Canada and/or surrounding area. I've firmly established
the family tree back to Barnabas (plus or minus a few gazillion branches)but
that's where it stops on the Day side. This guy is the pivot point of
any further trace.

It would be great to be able to continue the trace back even further
generations and if possible exchange branches of the family tree with
potential cousins. If anyone has more info on either the ancestors,
descendants or even Barnabas himself, it would be appreciated if you
would let me know.
Thanks in advance.

I am trying to find more info on family history of Days in Maine.
My father, Linwood Maguire Day, was born, 9/19/17. His father,
John Day, died when he was two years old, in 1919. Brother was
Durwood, served in U.S. Army, died 1943. Mother was Linnie Maria Maguire,
born 7/4/1888 in Waterville, Maine -- but most of family from Cutler area.
John Day was significantly older than Linnie, probably born 1860s.
Anyone with any information, please respond. My father (Linwood Day)
has told me that the originator of this branch of the family came from
England in 1635. Thanks!

Hi Beverly, I have a Day genealogy and I found a John Bird Day
born in Wesley, Me., March 29,
1875. Married a Limmie Day Jasnow. This John Bird had a brother
named Alberto Linwood Day. John
Bird's father was Josiah Day, born in Wesley, Me. Nov. 2, 1839,
married Mary Maria Bird, Nov. 8,
1863. The names may be just a coincidence, but worth exploring.
Good Luck!
