I am a descendant of Hilas Day, who was born in 1811.
I'm trying to find the link to my roots in Ireland. I've traced
my ancestry in the U.S. back 5 generations from my father Dale
Snowden Day, thru his father Homer Lee Day, to his
father James Warren Day, to his father Hlilas Day. That's as far
back as I've been able to go. My family grew up in
Waynesburg, PA, but I’m not sure how many generations before
me lived in that area.
I hope to identify my Day ancestor who emigrated from Ireland,
and find where he came from and when. I’ll be
visiting Ireland for the first time this year, and would love
to find our "home town" and my distant cousins.
Please help if you can. I'll be glad to share the details I've
gathered on the descendants of my great-great-grandfather
Hilas here in PA. I’ve put all I know into a
computer file in the Brother’s Keeper genealogy program
(which I find very easy to use and highly recommend). I can
email a copy to anyone interested.
