James "S?" Day
 Saturday, 30-Jan-99 12:44:27

     Message:
I am searching for my GGGGrandfather James Day. I know that he married a "Polly" Brent in 1815 in
Marion County, Mississippi. They left Mississippi in about 1822 and moved to Washington County,
Indiana. They may have stopped in Tennessee for a couple of years. They arrived in 1824, and died in
1824 within 2 weeks of arriving in Inidana. They had several children. My GGGrandfather was John W.
Day. I have information about his descendents, but I am stuck on finding anything about his father,
     James. Any help out there??

SANUEL AND BONNIE DAY ADOPTED ORATOR MCKINNLEY DAY, AKA HERBERT DAY
 Tuesday, 26-Jan-99 18:16:41

     Message:
Have been searching forever for any data on the resting places of these people, or anything, anything
at all to lead us in some direction of the resting place and blood family of ORATOR MCKINNLEY DAY, AKA, HERBERT DAY
My great grandmother, Daisey Bell Milton married Orator Day in 1915. In 1916 they had Kenneth Leroy
Day, and in 1918 Floyd Day, shortly after they divorced.
Floyd drowned at the age of eight.
Kenneth grew up knowing his father to be HERBERT DAY as listed on kenneths birth record.
My possesion of Daisey and Herberts marriage record indicates that herbets name was in fact orator.
There was always rumors as to the fact that 'herbert' was adopted by Samuel and Bonnie day.my
census research proved this to be true. going backwards; 1910 mI census
Samuel and Bonie day had a son listed as Samuel Day
     1900 census michigan
Bonnie and Samuel had a ADOPTED SON
     ORATOR DAY AGE 14
Where did orator come from? Where did he go?
after the divorce from daisey, there are rumors that he may have worked in a factory in lansing mi
called reo motors, also that he may have been a boxer.
I am hoping to even find the death places of bonnie, samuel or samuel the 2nd in hopes of loacting
obituaries that might lead to orator.
Maybe someone that knows that a baby is missing from there family that was born apx. when orator
was born Orator may have married again, maybe had another family.
Anything, anything at all would help us in locating any data on this family would mean so much to my
imediate family, we have been looking for so long... Thank you

New info re. Ken Day's family
 Thursday, 21-Jan-99 06:25:08

     Message:
My previous query appears to have had wrong dates.
My Father John Edward Day was born 15/12/1925 in Derbyshire England and died 26/5/1965 in Port
Augusta South Australia. His parents were Charles Day and Caroline ? Charles was apparently treted
in an institution after his wife died either during or shortly after the birth of my father and a twin brother
who died at birth. My father had 2 older sisters Irene and Marjory. Irene married a Len Childs in
     Derbyshire England.

My mother was Born 7/10/1920 in London England her parents were Percy and Evelyn Wallis, She had
a sister Irene and 2 brothers Keith and William (Bill). My mother could speak fluent "Cockney" which
may give a clue to the area of London in which she grew up.

Does this information match any ones research.

Re: DAY-BOWLING of VA and NC (Mike Day) (20-Jan-99 19:11:31)I am trying to find the parents of William DAY, b. abt 1756, possibly in Culpeper County, VA. He was a
Revolutionary War Soldier from Virginia and later setteled in South Carolina. I believe he married
Frances Mundy (Munday)and they had children Frances,William, Edith, Reuben, and Lewis.
The timing and possibly the location fit the William listed as a son of John and Bethlehem. Does any of
this match anything you have on William?

Here are the notes that I have on John Day and children. I don't know if this could be your William or not,
     Mike:
     From Connie Day LaBarre :
Children of JOHN DAY and BETHLEHEM BOWLING:
John, b. 1748-55, d. 1825 in Person Co., father of Col. John Day. William, b. prior 1756, moved to
     Surry Co. Francis, b. 1760[1]. Henry, b. 1761[2]. Philip, b. 1762-64, m. Mary Douglass, moved to Smith
     Co., TN. Isaac, b. 1767[8].
Note: John Day and Bethlehem Bowling married in the Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co., VA. It
appears that he moved to that area from some unknown location. But many records are destroyed.

This book provides a transcription from a wide variety of original source lists. Some are lists of those
having taken the required oath of conformity and allegiance to the Church and Crown. These lists are
for those embarking on specific ships, with dates of embarkation given (often well ahead of the actual
date of sailing, which is rarely specified). Other lists provide other information regarding emigrants and
matters of general interest, but also do provide some scattered information about ship voyages for
people listed. Many of the "passenger lists" I am including are compiled from those miscellaneous
     individual entries.

Please look over the names and see if you recognize any of them.

My grandmother was Eva Estelle Day (b.1909 AL- d.1979 TX) who married Wallace Hall Freeman
(b.1907 TX - d.1973 TX) and married 1928 in Tarrant Co. TX.

Here father was Oliver Washington Day (b.1875 AL - d.1958 TX) who married Zuma Drucilla Smith
     (b.1880 AL - d.1943 TX) and married 1900.
     Their children were:
Earl Day, Ormon Day, Madge Day, Eva Estelle Day, James Day, Nettie Gertrude Day, Cortez Day,
and Gladys Day. All born between 1901 and 1919.

Oliver's father was Enos Day (b.1840 AL- d.1915 AL) who married Sarah Jane Anderson (b.1849 AL -
d.1911 AL). Oliver had a sister named Louisa
Elizabeth Day (b.1869 - d.1962). No other siblings are known.

Enos' father was Wyatt Day (b.abt.1814 NC) who married Elizabeth Isbella Grider (b.abt.1815 NC) and
     married 06 MAR 1840.
     Their children were:
Enos Day, Mary Day, John Day, Mary E. Day, Lacinda Day, Martha A. Day. All born between 1840 and
     1850.

It is believed (by me and my father) that Wyatt's father was Nicholas Day, however, John Day has also
surfaced as a possibility. However Wyatt's mothers name is Celia Carlton (b.abt.1790 NC). They
     probably married around
     1809.

     Their children were:
Lot Day, Wiley or Willey Day, Wyatt Day, Allen Day, Miles Day, Hasting Day, Larkin Day, and Claripa
Day. All born between 1809 and 1831.

     My genealogy site is: www.wintektx.com/freeman

Any help with these DAY's would be appreciated.
