I found some information at the Columbia County, GA courthouse recently
that may be of help to others. Background info:

Stephen Day, b. c. 1742 in PA; died 1825 Columbia County, GA. He is
listed in Roster of Rev. Soldiers of GA as receiving bounty land in GA
for his service, upon certificate of Col. James McNeil. Mar. Margaret
Jones, b. 1744 (dau. of James Jones, Rev. Sol. and his wife, Mary).
Stephen Day's parents: John Day and Ann Hussey (taken from notes
supplied by Maria Mimbs who researched Quaker Warrington MM; and
forwarded to me by another Day descendent: Pamela Cranston.)

Stephen' children:
John m. Feariby Bulloch (my line)
Stephen, Jr., m. Priscilla Jones
Jonathan
Joseph
Theodate m. Thomas Kendrick
Rebecca m. John Kendrick
Nathan
Samuel Connell
Sylvanus

My line: John Day, b. Dec. 13, 1768 NC. Died in 1838 in Columbia Co. as
I found records about his estate starting in Jan. 1839 with inventory.
He left no will.
John married Feariby Bulloch 31 May 1788 in Augusuta, Richmond Co., GA.
(Year is worn off of original record, but index says 1788). Columbia Co.
formed from parent county, Richmond in 1790. John Kindrick and John Day
signed for bond.

In records of John Day's estate I found:
Children mentioned:
Almon Y. and Richard B. Day, executors of estate (Fearriby signed a
statement agreeing to sell everything and take a child's portion):
Payments made to these children:
1. Mary Ann Day Maddox, wife of Chapman Maddox
(couple married in Warren Co. I believe)
2. Stephen Day (my line: had moved to Macon Co., AL by this time; m. Mary Hobbs in Columbia Co., GA 1815).
3. Joseph Day
4. William Day

List these grandchildren as receiving payments as their parent already
deceased:
Children of Hiram Day ("late of MS" according to record):
John J. E. Day (believe he may have lived in Macon Co., AL for 1850 census.
There is a John E. Day living next door to Stephen Day)
Margaret L. Day
Sarah A. F. Day
another payment to guard. of minor of Hiram Day
In another record, Joseph B. and Hiram A. F. Day received their portions

of their granfather's estate April 8, 1844 (believe they may be sons of Hiram.)
Payment to Ed. Wooding, guardian of John W. Wooding
Payment to Allanson A. Day

According to Mimb's notes, Rebeccah Day, John and Feariby's daughter,
married Edward Wooding. Also, Allanson A. Day was son of Joseph Day,
but Joseph had not died. Perhaps Allanson received a portion as he was
of age (b. 1813)

My line Stephen > John > Stephen (found in Macon Co., AL census
1830-1850; in 1850 a John E. Day living next door perhaps nephew? In
1852 Stephen moved to Nacogdoches County, TX and died there Feb. 1859
without will; records in courthouse)>Joseph R. Day (moved to Cooke Co.,
TX ca. 1869 and died there ca. 1879)>Murta Day (married John Wesley Day,
no proven relation Wood Co., TX 1890).
