JOHN DAY came riding into town on a horse around 1870ish in Hart County
Kentucky. Rumors are that he came from the Carolinas or the Virginias. He was
apparently born in Tennessee, possibly the Cumberland Gap area.
He married a woman named Elizabeth ____ who later died. He re-married later to
a woman named Elizabeth DORSEY, daughter of John DORSEY. They are buried
side by side on the old Day homestead behind Ream's Chapel on Hwy 728. His
tombstone says he was born 9/19/1842 or 1847 and died 5/29/1906. They had
several children including Willie and George Riley Day. He was a very loved
man according to reports by his family.

The question is: WHO was this man? WHERE did he come from? What kind of
past did he leave behind? WHO were his parents? WHO did he leave behind and
WHY?

His descendants are well-known in the Hart County and Edmonson County areas
of Kentucky.

Any info would be appreciated... gandalf@wko.com
