The oldest JOHN DAY I have is one born ca. 1795-98 in Virginia who
married Ellen TANNER, 4 May 1824 in Shenanadoah Co, VA.

They had numerous children, among them a JOHN DAY, born 1826-28 in
Shenandoah Co, VA. He married Sarah Susan THOMPSON in 1853. She was
born 1 March 1836 VA and died 17 Oct 1914 VA. They had the following
children:
1. Charles, born 1854, married Julia CONSTANT
2. Ellen Ruth, 1855-1904, married Joseph SONA
4. Walter, b. 1855, married Louise TULOOSE
5. JOHN DAY, b. 1856
6. Virginia, 1857-1874
7. Lewis, 1863-1933, married Mattie MILLER
8. Jesse, 1870-1942, married Mary SUESEA
9. Harry, 1875-1954, married Bertha BUFKIN

Another son of JOHN DAY and Ellen TANNER was William DAY, born ca 1823-25
who married Sarah Ship, born 1831. They had these children:
1. Mary, b 1849
2. JOHN W. DAY, 1850
3. George, 1853
4. Henry, 1856
5. Isabella, 1861
6. Ruth,1864
7. Joseph,1869

My line, however, is from another son of JOHN DAY and Ellen TANNER. This
son was Benjamin Franklin DAY, born 1830, who married 9 Jan 1851 in
Shenandoah Co VA to Elvira THOMPSON (sister of his brother John's wife
Sarah Susan, above). They had the following children:
1. WIlliam, born 1852 VA
2. Milton Monroe (DEAIGH), 1854 VA -1896 TX, married Juliah A. HENSLEY
3. Benjamin Franklin, 1857 VA - 1950 TX, married Emma Irene GRAY
4. Joseph Samuel, 1860 VA - 1936 OK, married 1. Luvisa Christina
DRISKILL, 2. Mary Catherine DRISKILL (my line), 3. Leona CURRY.
5. George, born 1863, married Mary E. DRISKILL.
(All the wives mentioned here --except Leona Curry-- are also related to
each other, as cousins, one way or another.)
