This is a photo of John William (Willie) Day during his tour of duty in the Spanish-American War
as an infantryman in the Phillipines.
One of his duties was to stand guard of the then President Aguinaldo who had formed the revolutionary government.

John William (Willie) Day was born 27 Feb 1882 in Hart Co., KY and died 2 Dec 1971 in Hart Co., KY.
His parents were (another) John Day, 1847-1906, from Claiborne Co., TN of the Caswell Day line.
John William and his wife, Margaret Ann (Maggie) West, were the parents of seven children.
