Charles is reported as being 58 years old and from England. - 1881 Census - reports Charles as being 68 yrs old living in Fredericksburg with his wife Susan age 50 and five children, two from his first marraige and three from the second. He is shown as being born in England and of the Methodist faith. A farmer. - 1891 Census - reports Charles as being 79 yrs old, a retired farmer living in Fredericksburg with his wife Susan age 61 and six children, three from his first marriage and three from his second. His oldest son James age 45 from his first marriage is shown as being a fish dealer and is reported as widowed. The entire family can read and write. - Another source states he came to Canada with his brothers in 1842 abord the Lord Canterbury which left England on March 25, 1842 and arrived in Quebec June 11, 1842.
