Phillip Day was born around 1817 probably somewhere in Kentucky.
(his mother's name might have been Hannah) The 1849
Federal Census of Greene County, Illinois, lists Phillip as the head of the
household which included a white female between the ages of 60 and 70 years
(presumably his mother).
     The 1880 Federal Census of Schuyler County, Illinois, shows Phillip Day
as the 63 year old head of a household which included his wife, Nancy Allen
Day, and three children, George W. (30), Eliza (20), and Silas (17). The
Census shows that both Phillip's parents were born in North Carolina. it shows
that Nancy Allen Day was born in Illinois and her father was born in Virginia
and her mother in North Carolina. Phillip Day and Nancy Allen were married
Feb. 18, 1841.

were they married? Did they have any other children? Did Phillip and Nancy
have any children other than George W., Eliza, and Silas? From which Day
