John Day Line of NC

My "Day" family tree begins in the 1790 Federal Census where I found a John Day living with his family
on a little island on the North Carolina coast. I believe his wife's name was Amelia and that quite possibly
she was an Indian lady whose people lived along the banks of the Neuse River in what is now Craven County, N.C.
John and Amelia had four children who each branched out and had large families that now inhabit
Carteret, Craven, Pamlico and Hyde counties in eastern North Carolina. One of these original sons
John and Amelia was named Richard who was born on December 5th, 1791 in Carteret County in a small
fishing village called Cedar Island. He married a lady named Elizabeth Ann Fulcher (or Fulshire)
from an adjoining village on December 13, 1813 also in Carteret County.
From this line I eventually emerged on October 25, 1948.
