James S. Day born about 1846 probably in Massachusetts. Sailed aboard
the ship "CONTINENT" between 1859 and 1861". We have a website up with
his photo on it and the inscription from inside the case. If anyone
recognises him, we would like to hear from them urgently. Don't know
much more than that - can tell you heaps about the ship, and other
passengers. He was in Australia twice from the US. Is he the same James
S. Day who possibly died in Andersonville during the Civil War? Did he
survive the Civil War? Does anyone know anything about this young man.
