I'm stumped!!
Looking for information regarding Zachariah Day family

I’m a direct descendent of Zachariah Day and know the line from my grandfather (Herbert Day) all the way to Zachariah.
I know Zachariah was born in North Carolina around the mid 1780’s, but I cannot find where. I know he married Mary ???
(she’s from South Carolina) and that he first appears in Georgia in the 1820 Gwinnett County census.
Zach and Mary then show up in the 1834 Forsyth County, Georgia census (Forsyth was formed from Gwinnett County
in 1831 and the first county census taken was the one in 1834). From 1834, Zach shows up in every available census
for Forsyth County, until 1870 when he is no longer listed (also note that the 1860 Forsyth census was destroyed,
so I don’t know if he was alive then or not -- the 1850 census lists him as 72 years-old). I do know he died
in north Georgia – just don’t know exactly where or when.

For several years, I was under the impression that Zachariah was the first “DAY” in north Georgia – until recently.
I uncovered the 1790 Georgia census and it lists Ambrose Day in Franklin County (Franklin County is about 50 miles due east of Forsyth County). Also, I uncovered a 1821 Georgia Land Lottery document that shows a Zachariah AND William Day – both living in Gwinnett County. So now I’m wondering if Ambrose was the father and if Zachariah and William were brothers. Basically, my problem is that I still can find no hard data regarding Zachariah’s siblings, parents, and/or birth place in North Carolina and I’ve been able to find nothing more about Ambrose or William and their possible relationships to Zachariah. If anyone has information on this line, I’d be very interested in hearing about it!

Thanks!!
Steve
