If ya came in here, ah'm assuming ya actually wanted to hear (read) bout me....
AH DREW DE PIC IN DE BACKGROUND.
My name is Gerry Geer. I'm originally from Brookville, Pennsylvania (small town, don' ask). Right now I live in Pittsburgh, where I'm a full-time student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. My major is Computer Animation. I'm a deep person, and deep thinker, sometimes I just shut myself off from the rest of the world, and think. I'm an extremely UN-racist, UN-biast, open-minded, easy/outgoing guy, I'm also blunt. I don't hide things, don't have many secrets, and I'll talk about anything to anyone... I'm not very shy about my personal life. I love to party, yet sometimes I'll just want to stay at home. A great weekend for me is one where I just go out on a date or out w/ friends, or go to a party. Afterward, I like to "go out for coffee" or bum around home and relax.
I was a swimmer since I was 4 years old. When I became a freshman in high school and joined the high school swim team, I decided swimming was getting boring. So I tried diving, something I had never done before and was eager to try. Only the ironic part was, I started diving 2 hours before my first judged meet. I ended up doing ok that night, and thought I would stay w/ diving for a while to see if I was good at it... and I was. After starting diving half way through the season, I ended up placing 3rd at districts, and the next season, placing 3rd at districts again. I then realized that diving came naturally to me..... Although, in the middle o my junior-year season, I quit diving and swimming altogether. It all became more of a chore than anything. I started it all, wanting to have fun, and enjoy it, but it just wasn't fun anymore. Right after quitting that, I started playing soccer. It's a fun sport, although it HURTS when someone kicks a ball, point blank, into your nuts *shudder* (yes this has happened to me a couple times.)
I'm an artist, or at least I like to think so, and that's what people tell me. Not a music artist, just an artist. This is something I'm very good at. I do all the usual things like sketch, paint, and sculpt, which I like doing all of. My specialty is airbrush. For those of you who don't know what that is...I'll sum it up for ya -- its a little paint 'gun', hooked up to an air compressor (it looks kinda like a small sandblasting 'gun'). I have sold a few peices of my work to people doing clothes, cars, motorbike tanks, and have gotten a couple job offers just by walking into an airbrushing store wearing my work... which is usually on my jeans. I airbrush things like frogs, fire, dragons, de violator, a phoenix, Marvin the Martian, and a cute lil' troll-monkey-dude onto my jeans. Like I said before, I'm currently taking computer animation at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I'm in my second of eight quarters right now. I know that doing artwork for a living will be the only thing I'll be able to do in life and be totally happy w/ my career. My dream is to work for a CAM company making movies, video games, or comic books.
My music interests are pretty broad... I like everything EXCEPT country. ALL country songs make my @$$ twitch! My main favs are alternative/Rock, R&B, and Classic 60s rock. Something not-so-fantastic, yet interesting, is that I'm related to Janis Joplin. My great-grandfather Budreaux was her grandfather or great uncle, I'm not sure which but its one of those...
