My Tribute to My 2 Heros

This page is lovingly dedicated to my 2 heros.
Both have taken their place in the pages of history.
Both have lived consistant lives.
Both have loved their country with every
fiber of their being.
Neither have been too "macho" to shed
a tear for the United States of America,
the greatest country in the world!

My first hero was John Wayne.
Larger than life, he was a man who
deeply loved his country. When searching
for the words for the medal cast in his
honor, they settled on these simple words.
JOHN WAYNE, AMERICAN

This photo is from the movie, GREEN BERETS.
Although the View Nam War was a very "unpopular"
war, he made this movie in honor of the men
who served their country as part of the elite
Green Berets.

Fittingly, my other hero was our 40th President,
Ronald Wilson Reagan. Here's a photo of both of
my heros together.

And now a photo of the President giving a speech.

I have been deeply saddened by the death of
President Reagan in June, 2004. But it seems like
heros are bound to die. In the movie westerns,
the hero rides off into the sunset. And with these
2 men, they both did the same thing. They
rode off into the sunset, straight into
the Arms of God. They may be gone, but they
will never be forgotten by those who loved them.

I Need A Hero
by Bonnie Tyler

Where have all good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There’s someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life

Up Where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I would swear that there’s someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood

I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong
And he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light
He’s gotta be sure
And it’s gotta be soon
And he’s gotta be larger than life
