Blessed AssuranceThe great comfort of every believer is that our salvation is secure in Christ. Nothing we can do can change what the Lord has done in us and for us. From the first to the last, our salvation is dependent on the grace of God and His promises. Throughout the scriptures we find God's assurance that those He has plucked out of the world will come to Glory and inherit the kingdom of Heaven, regardless. {This does NOT mean that we can stretch our christian liberty and engage in willful sin without consequences.} Christian Liberty
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither will any man pluck them out of my hand.John 10:27+28 While the Christian might be buffeted by storms of sin in his own soul, or by the onslaught of temptations of the world,he can hold fast. As with Peter,David and many others, God will hold us fast and bring us into Glory just as He did them. This is the assurance and promise that every child of God has. It is given by a faithful Father and secured by His Son. God is not a helpless being pleading with us to stay faithful. He has made provision for that, even though we fail and fall at times. He does not sit upon His throne waiting and wondering if we will make it. He does not plead with us to abstain from sin so we will see Glory with His will at the mercy of our own. This would imply that He is not all powerful. If that were to be the case, mankind would truely be doomed! Our salvation is totally dependent on God and is sure and steadfast.
We are kept by the power of God. I Pet.1:5
