I'm Not Your Dream Girl

Evertime I open my mouth

I try to be somebody who

Isn't me.

I speak more softly

To try to sound sweet.

I sing louder

To try to sound strong.

I tell jokes

To make you think I'm funny.

I stand taller

When you're around.

I smile prettier when

I'm in your presence.

One day, you'll realize,

I'm loud,

I can't really sing,

I'm weak,

I'm not really that funny,

I'm short,

And I can be a real bitch

Sometimes.

I'm not your dream girl.

And I probably never will be.

But you love me anyway.

And that's all I'll ever need.
