"Where are we going next?" Brynn asked, from her position in the large hotel room, wrapped in Taylor's arms. They were sitting on a sofa that seperated the two parts of the room. It was a suite and Isaac, Taylor, Zac, Brynn, and Holly all shared it the night before.
"Who cares." Zac mumbled. He was laying on one of the large beds with a pillow covering his face. His hair was down but it hadn't been combed yet.
Holly was sitting on the bed next to him, smiling at Brynn and Taylor. She'd never seen Brynn so happy before and she was thrilled about it. She, however, wished she had the same thing in her life. She was enjoying her time on the road with her new friends, but she was still lonely. She had never thought Isaac would ever grow to be a boyfriend, but it still hurt her a little when she realized he had a girlfriend.
Isaac had gone out, trying to find a good place to bring back some chinese food. He knew what his brothers liked. Brynn ordered Chicken and Broccoli with white rice, and Holly ordered 12 fortune cookies and a straw. It was an improvement over the night before when she asked the waiter if he could have her sushi cooked.
"It's just another concert. We'll do the same thing we always do. The girls will scream and clap even if we suck." Zac grumbled.
Brynn sighed and closed her eyes. "Why are you in such a bad mood today?"
Taylor shook his head. "He's been in a bad mood for a week. Just let him go, he'll get over whatever it is he's going through."
"Hello," Zac sat up and threw his pillow down on the floor. "I am in the room, you know. You guys talk like I'm not even here."
Holly watched as Zac gathered some things together and threw them into his backpack. Then he left the room, slamming the door behind him. She sat for a minute, looking from Brynn and Taylor, to the door. "Yeah, so, I'm gonna go see where he's going."
"I'm telling you, he's just being a grouch." Taylor rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that, and one day he'll end up really pissed at you. As for me? I'm going to go keep the grouch company." Holly left the room leaving Brynn and Taylor alone.
"You really think he's ok?" Brynn asked, looking up at Taylor.
He nodded. "He will be now."
"What do you mean?"
Taylor laughed. "Zac has a slight crush on Holly."
Brynn sat up and stared at him. "You're kidding?"
"Well, I don't know for sure. Zac doesn't really tell me that kind of stuff. But from what I know, he definitely likes her."
"But I thought he liked me."
He shrugged and then paused. "Wait... and you know that, how?"
"Holly told me. She tells me everything."
"Oh. Apparently this whole time he's liked her. Then he figured he had no chance because he thought she liked Isaac, so he developed a two day crush on you."
"So it was a 'take what you can get' kind of thing?" She asked, looking almost hurt.
"I guess so." He put his arms around her and leaned forward so that his forehead was touching hers. "Things have a way of working themselves out. And that is why I think Zac is going to be ok."
"And you?"
"Hey, I'm great. Life couldn't be better right now."
Brynn smiled and kissed him lightly on the lips. "Yeah? Why is that?"
He kissed her back. "Cause. For the longest time I've had nobody to just sit here with on our time off and spend hours doing absolutely nothing. And now I have you, which is all of that, and goes even deeper. And needless to say, you seem to be all I've ever needed." He paused. "You can stop me anytime now before I go overboard on the cheese factor.
Brynn laughed "I'm happy, too." She smiled, being completely honest. She kissed him one more time before turning around and finding herself wrapped in his arms again.
Holly pushed open the huge glass doors of the hotel and looked around outside. She spotted Zac on a bench with headphones on, staring off into space. She sighed and walked over to him. Without saying a word she sat next to him. She didn't say a word because it seemed like he didn't want to talk. She just sat, and stared off into space at whatever he was looking at.
Holly mumbled and pulled her blanket up closer to her face. She was laying on the hard floor of the hotel room next to Brynn. They refused to sleep in the beds and make the guys sleep on the floor. Isaac was on the sofabed with Zac, slowly and unconsciously pushing him to the floor, and Taylor had managed to get the bed for the night.
She rolled over again to see Brynn kicking her blanket off of her and crawling to the bed that Taylor was sleeping in. She climbed into the bed, keeping a safe distance from Taylor so that their mom wouldn't have a fit if she found them in the morning.
"Diana is going to nix and soap you." Holly mumbled, rolling onto her other side.
"Don't care." Brynn whispered and then went back to sleep.
An hour later, Holly found herself still wide awake. She rolled over onto her stomach and laid her head on her arms. She glanced across the room to see that Zac was also wide awake, sitting up in the sofabed, looking out the window. "Zac..." She whispered.
He turned around and looked down at her.
"Come here..." She patted the floor and Zac came over, sitting down directly in front of her. "Can't you sleep?" She asked, staring into his eyes, which to her, looked exhausted.
He shook his head. "I really don't sleep much when we're touring."
"I've noticed."
Zac turned away and put his head down on his knees. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"Sitting outside with me for three hours today. I needed somebody there."
"It's no big deal." She closed her eyes.
"But it was. Nobody else would have done that. People either ignore me or start bugging me to cheer up when I'm in a bad mood." He sighed. "You're different. So thanks."
"Anytime." She smiled with her eyes still closed, never once noticing that he was staring down at her. "So are you still in a bad mood?"
"No."
"That's good." She opened her eyes and looked up at him. Yawning, she sat up. "Anytime you need a friend to just sit there with you while you count cars. I'm here." She leaned forward and put her arms around him, giving him a big hug.
Zac shivered and hugged her back and then watched as she laid back down and closed her eyes. He went back to the sofabed and fell asleep within minutes.
