All About Anne

This is me at age 4.

This is me at age 7.

According to my birth certificate (which we all know has no truth or value), I was born at age 7. My children have named me "alien" because I cannot trace any roots prior to that age. As young children trying to rationalize, they decided I came from another planet. I liked their idea, so I told them that I was from a race that was superior to Earth Humans and that my mission was to increase the intelligence of Earth Humans. Of course, I was the most beautiful of my race and the most intelligent! This became a joking matter over the years because there is really no other way of dealing with my missing life and heritage.

In 1965 while still in high school (Cardinal Dougherty, Philadelphia, Pa.), I was introduced to a young guy that appeared in my dreams as a child. When someone would go to a wedding, I would always get a slice of cake to sleep on and dream about the man I would marry. As silly as this sounds, it really happened! I remember dreaming about a guy with blond hair and blue eyes, and had a strong stature. It was 2 years later that I met him again....and I remembered meeting him in 1964.

Two years later (September 28, 1968), I married my dream man and we are still married (going on 30 years).

We have five beautiful children ranging in age from 28 to 19 (2 girls, 3 boys). Three of our children are married and are helping to expand our family. My daughters-in-law are great people and I think they like me (which is not always the case). My son-in-law is everything a mother wants for her daughter. I feel very blessed to have them as part of our family.

On May 29th, we became grandparents (what an odd feeling) to a boy. I hope this is only the beginning of our next generation.

Upon the arrival of our newest member in the family, my youngest daughter bought a book for me as a gift. The name of the book is "Grandmother's Life History". As I viewed the beautiful pages of this book, I realized that I would not be able to fill out anything regarding my mother, father, and siblings. It is a very hard realization. I do not want to put infomation on my (a)parents since I feel as though my live after 1956 is phoney. My (a)parents really did not want to adopt me, but they had to in order to get the little girl they longed for. Upon my marriage, they told me not to come back should I have any problems. Getting married was my choice and they did not support me in any way. They only wanted us to visit on holidays and that is what we did.

Thankfully, my in-laws were nice people and accepted me without condition.
