Don't Say Goodbye
Don’t say goodbye.
Say “So Long,”
“I’ll see you later,”
“Take care of yourself,”
Or “Until next time.”
Say anything...
But don’t say goodbye.
Don’t say goodbye.
Brush my lips tenderly,
Turn and walk away.
Don’t look back.
Don’t see the tears
As they fall from my eyes.
Don’t say goodbye.
Should our paths ever cross again,
Ignore the longing in my eyes,
The quiver in my voice.
Ask me how I’ve been
Or what I’ve been doing.
Say anything...
But just don’t say goodbye.
