Forward
Walking along my chosen path;
I find myself overcome by nightfall.
The darkness is unsettling,
closing in around me.
Caught between two places,
I am faced with choices.
Do I go forward?
Or, back to where I started from?
Do I leave the safety of what I know,
reach out into the darkness,
into the unknown?
Then, tentatively,
I edge one foot forward.
Slowly, cautiously,
one step at a time,
I continue on.
