Rory Breaker

It all started when 3 young, aspiring musicians took on the task of forming a band.
Erich Mace, guitarist, Brooks Miller, singer, and Ryan Freese, bassist,
originally set out to at least accomplish the goal of playing Monkey Wrench,
if nothing else.  They were bad for a long time.  Joined a month after their formation
by Ryan's brother, Brandon on drums, and soon thereafter by Bridget Moyer,
on rhythm guitar, the fivesome began increasing their set list very slowly.
Beginning with songs from some of their many influences, such as the Stone Temple Pilots,
Tom Petty, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the nameless band continued to improve.
When Gabe Gooslin joined the band to replace Bridget, the band adopted their first name,
an atrocity in itself, and played their first gig with Number Nine, a band that features
Erich's and Ryan's dads.  The new band began writing original material and
played at parties and bars through the summer of 2000.  After recording seven original
songs in late summer with session drummer Ffej Herb, the band, recently re-named
Rory Breaker, chosen from a character in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels,
headed off to Penn State in need of a drummer.  Brandon decided not to attend college
four years early.  With Ryan, Brooks, and Erich at main campus, and Gabe at Harrisburg,
they needed a drummer fast.  Not even two weeks into the new semester, drummer
Geoff Borro passed Brooks and Ryan's room as they completed their duet of Californication.  Curious, Geoff asked if they were in a band, so Brooks and Ryan said yes, but told him
their band had no drummer.  Geoff merely stated the fact that he was a drummer and
became a member of the band out of sheer desperation.  It turned out he was actually good,
too.  With the band's lineup changed again, Rory Breaker concentrated first on covers to find fraternity/bar gigs in the State College area.  After learning enough covers to get themselves through four hours of playing, the band once again returned to originals, this time leaning
more towards their funk roots.  The band currently exists as GeoffBorroRyanFreeseErichMaceBrooksMiller, and plans on writing and playing original
music until they are famous for at least 10 years, then slowly fade into the
"Where Are They Now?" category.
