Deidre Hall

Deidre Hall originally joined "Days of Our Lives" as the compassionate Dr. Marlena Evans in 1976. Hall left the series in 1987 to focus on a blossoming career in prime-time television. She returned to "Days" in August 1991 and continues to work in prime time. Hall starred as Jesse Witherspoon on the prime-time drama series "Our House" and appeared in many miniseries and TV movies, including "And the Sea Will Tell," "Woman on a Ledge," "For the Very First Time" and "Take My Daughters, Please." She has also made guest appearances on several prime-time series, including "Wiseguy." Her stage credits include A. R. Gurney’s "Love Letters." She has earned three Emmy Award nominations and three People’s Choice Award nominations for her work on "Days of Our Lives." She was named Outstanding Actress six times in the 12-year history of the "Soap Opera Digest" Awards. Hall, who has an identical twin, was born in Milwaukee and raised in Florida. She is married to novelist Steve Sohmer ("Favorite Son"), and they have two children. Hall enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Her birthday is October 31.
