Clerics: Clerics serve various deities. They cast spells, and they heal and protect their friends. They can wear any armor, but they one wield simple weapons (mace, quarterstaff, and crossbow). Dwarven clerics, hwoever can use warhammers.
Fighters: Fighters are exceptionally skilled at combat. They can use any kind of weapon, though only a Dwarven fighter can use a waraxe in one hand. They can fight in any kind of armor.
Rouges: Rogues are skilled experts. They can sneak around, and they can find and disarm traps. They can only wear leather or studded leather armor. If a Rouge flanks a monster, she/he can sneak attack. She/he can also sneak attack a monster on the first round of combat, provided she/he attacks one who has not acted yet. With her/his crossbow, she/he can sneak attack a monster from a fair distance away.
Wizards: Wizards cast powerful spells, but they have a tough time in hand to hand combat. Wizards are only familiar with the simplest weapons (crossbow and quarterstaff), except for elven wizards, who can use bows and longswords.
