What is Cosplay?

Cosplay, or costume play is dressing up as your favorite comic, fantasy, gaming, anime character and becoming them. Many different fans go to conventions to show off their cosplay and sewing skills along with preforming and just having fun. Conventions located in the GTO (greater Toronto area) are Anime North, CNAnime, Toronto Trek, and quite a few others.
Below you will find pictures of my friends and I dressed up and posing for the camera.

Costume List

Here are the costumes that have been done and are in the process of being done or the planning stages.
Rinoa Heartily FFVIII - one of the easiest costumes to put together, this was the first costume I completed. It was suposed to be for my sister (who only wore it so I could get pictures of it) For halloween last year 2001 - I ended up wearing it to work on halloween.

Sailor Moon - The second costume I finished. This one was for Anime North 02 and had a bit of Seramyu influince on it. I also made Sailor Jupiter for Sandy and helped with Sailor Pluto for Amy. This costume uses a lot of material and the bodysuit should be made from lycra. It is expensive but it looks great and can hold together with normal sewing rather than a serger. Not many pics were taken of this costume so when I get the time I will get some pics done. Right now this costume is getting some parts re-done.

Kimber Benton - I cannot express how pleased I was to get to wear the costumes of this character. The costumes were made by Sandy and turned out wonderful. For those of you who don't know who this character is, she is from and old 80's cartoon called Jem Truly Outragiuos! Both her origonal outfit and her glitter and gold were worn at Toronto Trek. Her origonal only was worn at Anime North.

Canadian Catgirl - This costume is still in the works. The componets I hope to have done are: and off white bodysuite, black jacket that's long at the back, white wig, black choker with gold bell, black boots, black tail and ears. Right now the pattern is cut out for most of it and just has to be sewn and altered as needed.

Yatan Kou - This character is one of the Three Lights from the Stars season of Sailor Moon. I am making the musical version of the costumes. This costume is not yet done, nor has it been started but some of the material has been bought.
