William Leonard Groh

William Leonard Groh William Leonard Groh, was born April 12, 1845 in North Lebanon, PA; and died June 28, 1912 in Elizabeth Township, Lancaster County, PA. He was the son of Christian Groh and Rebecca Immel. He married (1) Catherine Elizabeth Sherk March 27, 1866 in "Myerstown, Lebanon Co., PA by "Rev. Geo. Wolff". She was born December 17, 1848 in Myerstown, PA, likely on Tulpehocken Plantation, and died May 8, 1920 in Lancaster, PA. She was the daughter of Cyrus Casper Sherk and Elizabeth A. Loos. William and Catharine Groh had one daughter, Anna Laura Groh who married John Grant Light on March 1, 1890.

 

Burial: United Brethren Cemetery, East Main, Myerstown, PA. Medical Information: 245 lbs, 5'9 3/4 inches in 1907

Military: September 12, 1861, Volunteered for Union Army at Lebanon, PA Military service : vet. September 12, 1861 - June 27, 1865, Company "A", 93rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Served as "Wagoneer" (Private).
Military service : January 1, 1864, reenlisted after "3 year term"
Military service : June 27, 1865, honorably discharge at Brandy Station, VA.

Occupation 1: 1861, Farmer in West Myerstown, Lebanon County, PA. Occupation 2: 1907, Farmer in Elm, Lancaster County, PA. Religion: Family United Brethren to wife's family German Reformed? Residence : Halfway, Lebanon County, PA 1865-Oct 13, 1896 Residence : Aft. 1896, Elm, Lancaster County, PA.
