Later that night, the wife was unfaithful, as she knew she would be. She walked out the door and over the bridge to the lover's house.
The next day, she woke up late. Her husband would be home any time now. She had to ge out of there. So she left the lover's house.
She was about to cross the bridge to get home, when she saw an assassin standing on the bridge waiting to kill her. She had to get to her house. So she had to find another way to cross the river.
Down the river a bit was a boatman who charged 50 cents to get across. The wife had no money, but went down to see if he would let her cross because of the circumstances.
"Please boatman, I'll get 2 quarters from my house and pay you as soon as I can."
The boatman refused. So the wife went back to the lover's house to see if he would lend her 50 cents. He would not. She could see her husband walking home now, so she had no other choice but to try and sneak
by the assassin, via the bridge.
The assassin got her and killed her.
