Alien Battles and Buddhas

This was a strange dream, almost like a film. There were interesting "camera" angles all thruout it, fadeins/out, etc. Orignially I had written it down backwards in order to trace back thru all of the "scenes", but here it is in it's correct sequence.

Car ride. Someone pulls out the controls to a video game and we play. It's an alien shooting game. I have a husband/boyfriend (db, what a surprise) who is actually an alien and becomes furious at this virtual betrayal. Cut to home. Pushes me against a wall, growling something like, I'm gonna tape you up veeeerrrrrrryyyyyyy slowly... I'm crying. Cut back to car, minivan with darkened windows, where we've arrived at friend's house. Look out car window onto house. Bright, sunny day. Perfect neighborhood setting. Almost expect a young mother to appear holding cookies and milk. In the kitchen window can be seen a pastic mask facing downward onto a plant hanging over a bowl. Plant looks more like a face than the mask. "Daddy's face in the bowl." More alien-hunt.

  Cut.

Little kids. Sitting at long cafeteria table in front of movie screen. I grab a cookie and have to share a juice with the boy across from me. Previews start. First one for "Buddha of Suburbia." I mumble, "I love David Bowie..."

Camera zooms in on movie screen, becomes part of scene.

Buddha of Suburbia "movie". Bowie leads in gypsy woman on a leash. Pawn shop of sorts. Looks at merchandise. Big blond dog with him too. Owner is suspicious when db tries to sweet-talk him into buying the woman and dog. Says he only has $35. Man pulls off end of leash which has come loose -- tassel thing. Finds "lottery ticket" for $35 hidden in it. Bowie stares at him and falls into a dead faint. Wakes up, cries that he has to get home to his wife and daughter, owner pays for a carriage home. Last seen carrying dog food.

  Cut.

Harold and Maude discussion with friends Kristina, Grace, and Audrey in same car as before, tinted windows. Grey day outside, driving through the campus of the Academy of Notre Dame. Movie outside of car, "camera" pulls back from movie scene into the car with us. "Lets go dig up corpses!" Laugh, but Audrey doesn't get it. Stare at sky.
