A River

A river
Flows through my mind
Somewhere between fantasy and reality
It twists and turns along the borderline
Never staying on one side
For any great length of time.

A river
Washes the grains of my memories
Into a great delta
Where the reeds reach for the stars
And the tadpoles frolic in the crystal-clear water.

I am drawn into the current
Swept down stream
Dodging in and out of the rapids of reality
And with no land in sight
I accept my fate
Slowly I sink beneath the surface
The fish welcome me home
And the river ceases to exist.
