God's Own Poet

O, to be God's own poet
And martyr myself upon these pages
So that I may be remembered
For my sacrifice throughout the ages...

O, to be God's own poet
I shall lead my people
With my pen, a mighty church
And words like bells unto a steeple...

O, to be God's own poet
My pen in hand, I write my tale
My every page a cross
And every word, another nail...

O, to be God's own poet
With my head upon a plate
I give myself freely
And await my critics' fate...

O, to be God's own poet
For Thy wings I do await
And so I end this little Psalm
As I journey to Thy Pearly Gate...

It's gorgeous -- man, that is very very hard to do well; but,
you're all aces. Kudos! I hate you :).
