I Am Coming Home

I am coming home
I’ve spent enough time
On this strange world
I’ve done my time
In this flesh prison
And I am breaking out
I’m escaping from this Hell
And the guardians can’t stop me
From breaking through the walls
Of reason.

I am coming home
Tunneling through the twists and turns
Of my gray landscape
Through the valleys
And over the ridges
I know I’ll find my freedom
There must be a way to escape
These microscopic prison cells
And there it is
Right in front of me
My only means of escape...

As I emerge from the tunnel
I am overcome with sorrow
For the people I’ve left behind
For the world I’ve left behind
For the life I’ve left behind
I am FREE at last.

I am coming home
After a life of pain and suffering
In my private Hell
My soul has been consumed by the flames
And I’ve become an empty shell
Like the living dead
A man without purpose
A man without a destiny
A ship without a port
A black hole in space
And I am coming home

Home, I dream of it constantly
The only thing I have left
The only thing I have to live for
And I am coming home
Through the rivers that flow blood
Through the forests of flames
Over the highways of desolation
Through the loneliness of the city.

How I long to be away from it all
How I long to be home.

My quest must be fulfilled
I must return to my Eden
Far from this godforsaken place.

I am coming home
From my premature burial
From my untimely death
Six feet of earth will not stop me
The pine tomb can not hold me back
The icy fingers can not grasp me
I will not be denied my final reward
I am coming home.
