6:45........Beep Beep Beep Beep....The alarm clock went off with it's annoying certainty. "Just five more minutes is all I ask" Jennifer said in the winning morning voice. 10 minutes later. Beep Beep Beep. "Ok, Ok, I get it....
Jennifer unwillingly rolled out of bed, and headed to the cold bathroom. She turned on the radio as she always did each morning. Waiting to hear the traffic report. Contemplating what her plan of action would be on the trek to work. The traffic had been mayhem for the last couple of weeks. They were finally starting the new bridge extension which made traffic a nightmare.
"West Bound 422 is jammed up all the way back to the new construction." "Better leave early folks If ya wanna make it on time for work." said the disc jockey from the local radio station.
Work, now that was something that was much less to be desired. The job was Ok, but it just needed a little something. "Hmm, Maybe we should all revolt?" She thought to herself. "That would definately spice things up at the old club!" The water felt inviting as it beat down on her tense shoulders. Cold January mornings were not something to look forward to in Pennsylvania. She finally gave in and turned off the wonderful warm water, but she had to get in gear. Finally waking up enough to contemplate the doings of the day.
She walked out into the living room, picking up stray pieces of clothing along the way left from the night before. "I have to really stop falling asleep on the sofa like that" she said out loud to herself. She walked into the kitchen. The floor was cold. She opened the fridge to see what she could possibly eat to get her self energized for the day. Nothing good but the usual stand by of Cocoa Krispies.
As she got a bowel from the cabinet she glanced over and saw the answering machine blinking. "Hmm, I thoughtI got all my calls?" She reached over fumbling with the full bowl of cereal and hit the message button.
BEEP
"This is your mother, just calling to check in. Talk to ya soon!!" Mom. Nothing new just the same stuff as usual.
BEEP The next one was from Annlynn her friend of not quite 4 Years The message went on in her usual excited voice.
"Jen, Where the hell are YOU?"
Beep
"Jen, It's me again, I have to talk to you." Call me as soon as you get this message. You are never going to believe this."
BEEP.
That was the end of the messages. "I wonder what that is all about?: She finished her cereal a little faster than normal. Time was slipping away, and she wanted to call Annlynn before she had to leave for work. She picked up the phone and dialed the number she dialed numerous times before.
"Sweet 116.9 the home of the Groove " Annlyn speaking How can I help You?"
"Annlyn?"Jennifer asked.
"Yo" She answered excitedly. "Where the hell were you?" She asked. "Well considering the time of day it is, I would say I was sleeping." She said sarcastically. "Anyway" she said. "So do you like have any plans next week?" "Like say all week, Like Monday through Sunday all week?"
Jen Pondered the question. "For what?"
Annlyn excitedly unfurled the plan.
"Yea right, You think I can get off work?" She said. "Much less for a week?"
"Jen, You have to try. This is gonna be the best time." Annlyn said pleading to her friend.
"You know I want to go." "But things are kinda busy right now" Jen said with a bit of angst in her voice.
"You have no choice, Annlyn said. "You're going!"
"We'll talk about it later when I get home" Jen said. "I promise.
Jennifer finally made it out the door at 9:30. It was cold. It took her 10 minutes to get the car warmed up. The frost was a little bit thicker than normal this morning. She finally got to the highway where the gridlock was at it's worst. "I know I'm gonna be late." She thought to herself. She started to think about what Annlyn had offered to her. 7 days of warm sunshine and relaxation. Things were really going good for Annlyn since she had graduated from broadcasting school the past summer. First the summer job at the local radio station. Then the job offer from SWEET116.9. It made Jennifer kind of jealous, but she was happy for her friend. HONK HONK HONK Jennifer was awakened from her daydream abruptly by the sound of a Mac truck horn. "Alright already, I'm moving" She said in a irratated state of mind.
The rest of the drive to work was fine except for the numerous stop lights. She finally arrived at the club. She walked into the building. Passing her co-workers one by one. She finally got to the time clock the reminded her of a prison pass gate. SWIPE-10:10. "I knew I'd be late she said to one of her friends from work." "The traffic was Hell."
"Well Just be prepared Mr. Garrison is on a rampage this morning." The co-worker said. The tax paperwork isn't filed yet, and he's not happy."
"Great, Thanks for the warning". Jen said as she made her way to her desk. As she was walking up there was a flurry of activity.
"Where does this one go?" Kathy said in an exasperated voice to anyone that would listen.
"It goes over here!" "I explained this to you numerous times!" Mr. Garrisson yelled at the girl. "Are you dense or what?" The girl started to cry.
Jen had just walked up to the desk, and caught the tail end of the comment. "What did you say to her?" Jen asked very annoyed.
"If she was Dense?"he said.
"Well I think you better take your comment back. I don't think that is anyway to talk to you're employees!"
"What did you say?" he asked her with a tone of rage.
"You heard what I said!" She retorted. "I am a little sick of the way you treat us around here." "We do everything around here, and you get all the credit." Jen was on a roll. "And if you ask me I think it sucks" she finished.
He looked over at her with a look of dismay. "Well if you don't like it here, You can just consider yourself fired!" Mr. Garrisson said.
"No I can't consider myself fired." she said. "I
wouldn't give you the satisfaction." And with that she took a long deep
cleansing breath and stated. "I QUIT". She was startled by the words that
came out of her mouth. She tuned around and walked out.
Jennifer walked out to her car feeling liberated. Realizing what she had done had not totally sunk into her mind. "Did I just do what I think I did?" Talking out loud to herself. She had been dismayed with her job since the new manger had taken position. "You know?" she said talking to herself again. "It's about time I stood up for myself!" "This just might turn out to be a nice day after all."
Jennifer pulled into her favorite parking space. The sun had finally broke through the clouds for a brief moment. Even though they were calling for showers all day. She stopped at the mail box. Nothing today. "Probably a good thing." She thought to herself. The feeling of uncertainty was starting to settle in. She opened the door, and sat down on the couch. Contemplating the magnitude of what she just did.
Then she stopped and thought for a minute. "Sunny Florida". "I can go to Florida with Annlyn." Then she stopped to caution herself for a minute. "Can I afford to go to Florida?" She hopped off the couch and picked up the phone and called her mother. She explained to her what she had done at work, the situation and all the circumstances leading to it. Then she told her about the trip to Florida.
"I think you should go." her mother said.
"What did you say?" Jennifer asked questioningly. Her mother never agreed with anything she ever did. What was this all about?
"You need a break." "Maybe this will help you to see things clearer?"
Still puzzled Jennifer said to her mother. "You actually think it's a good idea?" Jennifer thought to herself. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". "Maybe you're right mom". Agreeing with her mother now this was different. "I am going to go." She exclaimed wholeheartedly. "And I"ll call you when I get back."
"Flight 117 for Orlando now bording at gate 27." The man's voice came over the loud speaker.
"What gate are we at now?" Annlyn Asked.
"Ugh, Gate 12" Jen said.
"We're going to miss our flight I know it." Annlyn stated with a bit of tension in her voice.
"No we're not, I've been here before." Jen retorted. "All we have to do is catch a airport caddy."
"What is that?" Annlyn asked
"Y'know like when you go golfing, those little cart things you ride around in?" Jen answered.
"HELLO," Annlyn answered. "Like I've ever been golfing before!"
" Don't worry here comes one now." Jen said as she flagged down the caddy.
"Where to ladies?" the older gentlemen asked, that was driving the little mobile.
"Gate 27 American Airlines to Orlando" She replied as she hoisted her luggage on to the carrier. "They just called the gate, and my friend here thinks we'll miss our flight."
"Not with 'ol Charlie on the job you won't!" he exclaimed.
They arrived at the gate with time to spare. "You ladies have a good trip now you hear!" Charlie the caddy driver exclaimed.
"Thank you" The girls said with a smile. "We will."
They borded the plane and got themselves situated.
" I don't know if I ever told you this, But I've never flown before." Annlyn sheepishly admitted.
"Oh yea, Well there is nothing to it." Jen answered her trying to be as reassuring as she could be. "and probably after today, you'll want to fly all the time."
"We'll see" She said.
"See now that wasn't so bad now was it?" Jen asked.
"Well we haven't landed yet." Annlyn answered.
"You're just lucky, I don't usually like to give up my window seat."
The stewardesses were starting to come around. The unfasten seatbelt signs were lit, and they were well on their way to Orlando.
"So what do we do when we get to Florida?" Jen Asked.
"Well there is supposed to be a rep from the radio station to meet us." "Then I'm not really too clear on the rest of it".
" Oh I see" Jen said.
"What is wrong with you?" Annlyn asked a little annoyed.
"It's just that I agreed to come on this trip for a little R and R I don't want to have to worry about where we are going to stay or anything." Jen exclaimed.
"Will you relax, everything I'm sure will be fine." Annlyn added.
"Well speaking of relaxing, I think I will have myself a little relaxing alcholic beverage." Jen stated.
"Alcohol?" Annlynn asked curiously. "Where?"
The stewardess
came down the aisle and they ordered their drinks. They enjoyed the rest of
their flight
by talking about what they possibly had instore for the week in the Florida
sun
"Ladies, and gentleman we are now on our final descent on our way to Orlando internatioanl airport. Please fasten your seatbelts, and enjoy your stay in our sunny, friendly, warm state of Florida." The pilot finished his speech.
"Here we go!" Jen said to Annlyn.
"I'll just close my eyes, I'll be fine." Annlyn replied.
The landing was as smooth as silk.
Jen and Annlyn gathered their belongings from the overhead cargo storage, and headed toward the front of the plane. "I sure hope it's warm out there." Jen said.
"Warm?" Annlyn replied that's an understatement. "The pilot said it was 84 degrees out there." They walked out of the plane into the bright Orlando Sun. They both reached for their sunglasses like some scene out of a movie.
"So what is the guys' name we are supposed to be looking for?" Jen asked.
"I think his name is Mark." Annlyn replied as she pulled out a piece of scribbled on crumpled up piece of paper. "Yea, Mark Swavely it says here."
They walked out into the large airport scanning the crowd. They only walked a couple of feet when they were stopped by a man holding a sign with the words "Mark Swavely- Majik 98.9" scrawled across it in big bold letters.
"I think you would be looking for me" Annlyn said to the good-looking tan young man.
"Annlyn from SWEET 116.9 I presume?" he said.
"None other than." She replied.
"Well hello there" he said. "Mark Swavely is the name."
"I can tell by your big sign there." she replied.
" Nice to meet ya!" Jen said. As she usualy had to do when Annlyn met new people.
"Oh I'm sorry" Annlyn said to Jen. "This is my friend Jen." She finally introduced her to Mark.
"Nice to meet you too." he said.
"So what is the plan here?" Annlyn Asked.
"Well maybe we should get your baggage and we'll go from there." Mark said.
They headed for the baggage claim and retrieved their bags. Annlyn overpacked as usual. "You are going to carry all those bags y'know" Jen said. "You packed 'em, you have to carry 'em."
"How about we get over to the car rental place now before it gets mobbed." Mark said.
"Car rental?" Annlyn asked questioningly.
"Well you have to get to work don't you?" Mark asked.
"Good point" Annlyn said.
They made their way to the rental place and noticed a mob of young girls around with banners that said " Welcome Home Boys!"
"Hmm, must be some service men coming home" Jen said.
"Actually that would be a pretty nice idea, except that the fact is it is a local group called The Backstreet Boys who are coming home from their latest European tour." Mark said. "As a matter of fact Annlyn gets to interview them this week for the radio show."
"Young guys?" Annlyn said. "Sounds like fun."
"Well if you like teenyboppers I guess." Mark replied.
To get to the garage for the cars, they had to flag down an airport caddy. They loaded the buggy that was overflowing with baggage. The trip didn't take that long, the warm air felt good to Jen after being cooped up in a plane for 2 hrs. They were driven down a winding corridor having to dodge cars on their way to the car pick-up area. They finally arrived and were stopped on their way by a security barracade.
"Hey Mark how ya doin?" a older gentlemen dressed in a security uniform said to Mark.
"How ya doin' today Scottie?" Mark said as he reached out to shake the man's hand.
The older man took it and said "Pretty good, but we have a liitle bit of a le`me on our hands right now. "Do you have your badge on ya?"
Mark reaced over and flashed his badge to the guard. "Oh that reminds me." he said. He handed two identical badges to Jen and Annlyn. "You have to where these down here." Y'know a security thing." he replied.
The trio were about to step off the cab to finally get to their rental when a limousine pulled into the garage. It was jet black with several tinted windows. The car came to a halt and the doors opened. A couple of people emerged and Mark said. "Speaking of the Devil" "There are The Backstreet Boys now. One by one, 5 good looking young men emerged from the limo.
"Will you move a liitle faster, my legs are killing me I need to stretch." said one of the guys with Blond hair.
"If your legs weren't so damn long Nick, you wouldn't have that problem, now would you?"
"Yea well, I think you're just jealous Alex" the young guy named Nick said.
"You guys will never grow up" said a nice looking man.
"Kev, y'know." You sound older everyday.
"Well you just wait cous, some day you'll be a big boy too." he sharply defended himself.
Another young man emerged who looked like all he did was sleep. "D" "You awake yet?"
"Yea, I'm K." Just need some eats," said Howie.
The limo pulled away, and Annlyn, Mark and Jen made their way to the car. As Jen was walking across the lot she dropped one of her bags. "Hey Wait," Kevin said. "I think you dropped something here."
Jen turned around and said. "Thanks, no problem just my camera." "I have to learn to pack a little lighter next time," Jen said as she looked up at him.
" I know how you mean" he said. "I have to learn to do that myself. he said and smiled at her.
"Thanks again she said and caught up to Annlyn.
"Yo, Kev." c'mon." Nick yelled.
Annlyn turned around and said. "Damn give the guy a break." "He's trying to be a gentlemen" she continued. "Maybe you should take a hint." She smiled and continued walking.
After about a 45 minute drive they arrived at the their hotel. They drove up a long driveway, and were guided to the valet parking area. Cars were aligned along the curb. All different makes of vehicles. "Hello, and welcome to the Grand Floridian Hotel" A curbside bellhop greeted them with a smile.
"Well if this isn't high style." Jen said to Annlyn.
Mark hopped out of the car that was in front of them. "I hope you like this place." he said. Not too far from the beach, and a hop, and a skip from Disney."
"This sure doesn't feel like I'm down here to work." Annlyn said. "Ahh, but you are dear." So you better get yourself situated, because we need to get down the station, and get you acquainted with the staff, and all."
Annlyn
and mark continued to talk shop, and Jen's thoughts wondered back to the
good-looking man named Kevin that had rescued her camera. She thought to
herself "I sure wouldn't mind possibly bumping into him again.
Annlyn had fit in just fine at the radio station. She met many of the other DJ's, and the VP's at the station. She seemed to feel like an exchange student of sorts she thought to herself. Mark continued to go over her itinerary for the week with her talking about the personalities she would interview. There were local celebereties as well as unknown wanna bee's. "So when do I get to interview those guys we saw at the airport?" Annlyn asked.
"Well actually, that would be tommorrow." he replied. They have some sort of charity event, tommorrwow night at the MGM studios." "It won't be anything spectacular" he went on. Just a promo bit for their show." "But it will give you some expierience."
"Well I don't know about you, but I should could eat something." Annlyn said. "We didn't have anything that great on the plane actually all I really did was have a few um, cocktails."
"First time flying I see?" Mark said.
"How could you tell?" she asked.
"You're red eyes gave it away he said.
"Was is that obvious?" she asked.
"Yea" he replied and they both had a good laugh.
Jen had decided that the first thing that she would do is check out the hotel and all it had to offer. After all she was on vacation. She used the elavator to caome down to the lobby. They had been staying on the 20th floor and walking was not an option. The elevator stopped on a floor just above the lobby. There was a great staircase that led the rest of the way down. She sort of felt like Scarlet O' Hara as she made her way down the the elegant stairs. The hotel was colorful in many different shades of red and pink. There were large tropical plants everywhere. She walked up to the desk and saw a man busy at his computer checking in guests. When he stopped studying the screen he looked up. "Hi" Jen said.
"Well hello there." he replied. "Can I help you with anything?"
"Well actaually yes." she said. "I am here on a well deserved rest and I would like to make the most of my time."
"Well you've come to the right place." he said. Jen was looking at him. Thinking he kind of looked like a wholesome country looing kind of guy. She noticed his name was Jakob.
He went on about all the things that the hotel had to offer from a large swimming pool, to tennis courts, even to horse back riding. She stopped him.
"So Jake, What kind of uh, nightlife is there?" Before he could answer, Annlyn walked in with Mark.
"Well look who it is?" Annlyn said. "If I'm right you are asking our friend here what kind of nightlife there is available."
Jen turned around and said. "You know me so well don't you?"
Mark chimed in. "Actually there is a great nightlife here." " So maybe if you are up to it maybe we can expirience some?" Annlyn and Jen looked at each other, and knew what was coming next.
"Jake?" "Would you like to join us?" She asked the young man behind the counter.
"Well ssure, I"d love too." he replied shyly.
"How's 8?" she asked. Sounds great. "We''ll meet you here then. she said and flashed him a friendly smile.
"You are crazy". Anlynn said to Jen . "First you quit your job, now you ask a total stranger to go out on the town." "What a rebel you are turning out to be."she said.
"Well you only live once. What can I say."
Their first night on the town was everything they thought it would be. They hit all the major nightspots, and wound up at a club that was very inclusive. Mark had known the guy at the door and they didn't have a problem gaining entrance. "Too bad your little friend couldn't make it tonight." Mark said.
"Actually I think you scared him off Annyln interjected.
"Who me?" "C'mon now, I was just being friendly is all." Jen defended herself. "Hey, anybody up for another round?" Jen asked. "I'm buying."
"Well in that case sure." "It's not everyday you give an offer like that." Annlyn said sarcastically.
"Ok, I'll be right back." she said. Jen started to walk over to the bar when sombody had bumped into her. "Oh excuse me" she said. She looked up and saw a face that looked vaguely familiar. They both looked at eachother kind of strange. Then she remembered. "I saw you at the airport today." she said. "You're in that band, um Back something.."
"Yea that was us alright." he replied. "Hi, my name is A.J." he finally said.
"Nice to meet you and you are?" he asked with a question. "Oh my name is Jennifer. "So are you here by yourself?" he asked looking around as he did.
"No, actually I'm here with a couple of friends." "And how 'bout you?" she asked.
"I'm here with family believe it or not." He said.
"Why wouldn't I believe that?" she asked.
"No reason" he said. "Well I have to make my way over here" she said. Pointing towards the bar.
"Sure, He said. "nice seeing you again." "Maybe if you're not too busy later you can save a dance for me." he said with a smile. "
Definitely" She said.
Jen returned the table, and Annlyn asked who she had been talking too. "That was A.J. one of the guys we saw earlier at the airport." "He's from that band you were talking about." she said directing the conversation to Mark.
"Yea Annlyn is going to Interview them tommorrow at the station." he replied. "By the way, you are welcome to come if you like." he said.
"Hmm, maybe I will and find out what these guys are all about.
Time had passed by when Mark noticed the time. "HAs anybody noticed the time?"
"Actually, no." Annlyn had said.
"It can't be too late." Jen said.
Mark looked at his watch and announced the time. "3:15" He said. "I hate to break up this little party, but some of us have a job to go to in the morning."
"Oh alright if that is the way you want, let me just finish my drinky here, and we'll be on our way." Jen sort of slurred her words on the last sentence.
"C'mon you lush, time to go home." Annlynn said. They got up and headed towards the door. Standing in the hallway was A.J.
"Sorry I missed that dance." he said. "You looked like you had your hands full anyway."
"A.J. oh, I want you to meet my friends." "This is my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Annlyn. Jen said as she put her arm around Annlyn.
"Well Hello there". he said. "I should have come over and introduced my self " he said to Annlyn with a grin.
"Some other time then". she said to A.J. and walked past him.
"You're friend doesn't seem to like me too much." He said.
"Don't worry about it, she gives everybody that impression."
" Hope to see you again sometime sweetheart" he said to Jen as he hugged her goodbye. "Take care of yourself".
" I will " she said with a
grin.
The bright Florida sun started peeking in the window. The room had been a mess from the night before. Annlyn was already out of bed. Jen began to stir a bit. She rolled over, and attempted to open her eyes. "Why does morning always come so early?" Jen said as she started to roll over in the bed. There had been no response, which made Jen wake even more. "Annlyn?" she called out. "Hmm, she couldn't have left already?" She began talking to herself now. Just as Jen was about to get out of bed, the door opened. "There you are." "I was beginning to wonder for a moment."
"I just thuought I would go get something warm to drink, and find a bagle somewhere." Annlynn said. "You know it's so hard to find bagels down here?" "What is up with that?" "Oh I brought ya a cappacino too." I thought you might need a caffeine push."
"Thanks" Jen said. And with that she finally made it totally out of the bed.
There were very few things that could pry Jen out of bed Cappacino was one of them. "So I have a question to ask you" Jen Said. "What's up with you and Mark?"
Annlyn looked at Jen kinda puzzled. "Up?" she answered her. "Nothing she said. "He is just a nice guy."
"Nice guy my butt" Jen retorted. "I've seen that look." "I know what is going through that mind of yours."
"Ok, Ok, he is a nice guy." " I let him kiss me good night that was all." "I swear."
"Hey, I was just wondering. Jen answered with a smile.
RING, RING, RING, "I'll get it." Annlyn dove for the phone. Jen decided that this would be the oppurtune time to claim the bathroom. This trip was turning out to be evrything she wanted it to. No cold bathroom floors, being stuck in traffic, or screaming bosses. Something that she was not looking forward to going back to. "What a nasty thought." she said to herself. "Let me stop, I am not going to let anything ruin my time away. " she thought to herself as she started to run the water.
"Jen, Jen," she could hear Annlyn's voice over the water in the shower.
She stopped the water abruptly. "What?" "What is it?" she asked sounding concerned. Jen jumped out of the shower and and grabbed a towel. "What?" "What's wrong?" she said to Annlyn. Jen stood there in a puddle looking at Annlyn.
"That was the station on the phone." Annlyn said excitedly. "You know how I was supposed to do that interview today?" she said to Jen.
"YES" Jen said a little annoyed now.
"Well they decided to make it a remote interview on site."
"Where already?" Jen asked her.
"Disney."
"Let's see?" Annlyn said with a puzzled look on her face. "I think we would get a better view if we moved the console this way, then we wouldn't be blinded by the sun as much."
"But if we do that, then we'll have our backs to the crowd." Mark replied. "I don't think that would work."
"Let me see." she said as she jumped down from the riser to get a better look at what Mark was talking about. She surveyed the scene and finally said, "O.K., I have to give you this one."
There was a crowd starting to gather around the site. Young girls with banners, and some were crying. Every now and then one would come to the van and ask, "When will they be here?" They were taking about The Backstreet Boys of course.
"When are those guys showing anyway?" Annlyn asked Matt.
"We have to go over to the information office to meet them and do a little run down with them first." Mark replied.
They grabbed a couple of wireless mikes, and some other gears and headed on their way.
BZZZ... Jen almost jumped out of her skin. 245-6541. The number was displayed across the face of the pager. "I will never get used to this thing." She said to herself. "Jen picked up the phone and dialed the number.
"Hello, Annlyn from Mgik 102.7 "
"Hey there, It's me" Jen said
"Where the hell are you?" She asked her excitedly.
"I'm getting ready to leave now." Jen replied.
"K, But don't forget your ID you'll need it to get in."
All right I'll see you then." Jen said as she put down the phone.
A limo pulled up outside of the gates to MGM studios. The five men piled out the limo, and Annlyn and Mark met them at the door. "Hey guys, welcome." Mark said as they walked up to them.
"Hi, All " She said as she looked up from her scribbles of paper.
"Hey, aren't you the one we saw at the airport yesterday?" Nick Carter asked in a questioning way.
"Yep, that would be Me." she said.
"Annlyn will be doing your interview today." Mark said. "She's visiting from our sister station up North."
"Hey well let's get this show on the road." Brian said.
They all had a seat at a large table and discussed about their interview.
"Hey this is Annlyn from Mgik107.1 " and I wanna welcome ya to my show" "We have special guests today, none other than Orlando's own BACKSTREET BOYS" With the introduction of her guests came a sea of screams from the girls that had gathered for the interview.
Jen started to make her way down the recreation of Hollywood and Vine. The streets were filled with people. Children, with their parents. Old couples with matching mouse ears. She could hear loud speaking in the background. She turned the corner and saw the huge mob of girls. "How am I gonna get down there?" she thought. She pulled up her hair into a ponytail, and took up a deep breath. She looked like she was on her way on an Army mission. "Wait, where is that ID?" she stood at a corner and took her backpack off her back. She started to search, rummaging through her things. "Ah, there it is" she said. She took the badge and put it around her neck. She grabbed her backpack again and took a drink from the water bottle she had. She hadn't seen so many little girls since the days she used to worship the guys plastered all over her walls. She finally made her way far enough up front where she reached a barricade. She flashed her badge and was led to the side of the stage. Annlyn was in her glory. Eating every piece of the limelight. She had definitely found her niche.
"I wanna thank you guys for coming today." Annlyn said to the crowd. AJ, Nick, Kevin, Howie, and Brian" Thank you. Jen had walked up to the stage and saw Annlyn.
"Hey girlfriend that was great." Jen said. She hopped up onto the stage. The guys were milling around signing autographs for people at the front of the stage. Jen and Annlyn were talking when AJ walked over to them.
"We have to stop meeting like this." He said to Jen.
"Well hello there AJ." she said to him. At the other side of the stage the other guys were finishing their meet and greet.
"Hey guys, come 'er." he said.
The all made their way one by one. He introduced them all to her. The last one to walk over was Kevin. He looked on as he came nearer the group. Jen saw him and instantly remembered the good-looking man that saved her camera.
"Hi, My name is Jennifer." She said to him before he could even say a word.
"Hello" he said, as he reached for her hand. "My name is Kevin." She looked at him as though she had seen a Greek god. He had deep blue eyes, a defined chin, and she couldn't see his arms, but could tell they were something to wonder about. "Are you coming to the show tonight?" he asked.
Jen had to wake herself up from her daydream. "Oh, I didn't really think about It." she replied.
AJ had walked up at the moment. "Yea sure she is." he said.
"Do you two know each other?" Kevin asked kind of puzzled.
"No, not really," she said to Kevin. "I saw him at a club last night, and I thought I had recognized him." Actually I remembered him from the airport." she said.
"That's it!" he said. "I saved your camera yesterday."
"So what about the show, Are ya gonna come?" He asked her.
