Flurries are being reported throughout the area at 11:30AM. However, precip is really starting to fizzle out to our west. Will lower snowfall totals to a coating to 1" for Delaware County. The mountains really did a number of the precip shield as it approached our area. Also, development of a new low east of Dover is occuring, so that is also aiding in precip falling apart to our west. Expect light snow to start around 12:30 if it hasn't in your area already. Scattered flurries and snow showers will be the trend for the afternoon. Some areas may see a nice burst of snow for a brief time. Highs today in the mid 30s.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with a high in the mid 30s. Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy, especially in the afternoon. High in the upper 30s.
A period of light snow is expected Sunday night or early Monday as another Clipper makes it's way east. A secondary area of low pressure will form on the trailing cold front during the day on Monday. This system is expected to develop nicely offshore. Looks too far east still to really affect us, however, if guidance keeps trending west, will upgrade the forecast to possible snow/rain Monday night into Tuesday. Highs Monday in the upper 30s to near 40. Highs Tuesday in the mid to upper 30s.
So, for the remainder of today, light snow and snow showers are in the forecast. Total accumulations from a coating to an inch. Things will break up and start moving out by evening. Next update available around 2AM Saturday.
