Not a whole lot to talk about here in the Northeast at this time as far as winter weather is concerned. Now for the upper midwest . . . that's another story. Some areas in Minnesota look to be buried with up to a foot of snow. The reason for this is a monstrous area of low pressure centered in the plains heading into Canada. I've even heard the term 'blizzard' used for the first time this year, although I'm not sure if all criteria is met for this to happen. As for us, the frontal passage will provide us with some much needed rainfall tonight and tomorrow. We may even hear a few rumbles of thunder at the onset. After the front barrels through, temperatures should remain in the low to mid 50's for highs the remainder of the week. All in all, looks nice for the weekend for now.
