Winter weather continues to be on vacation for our area, at least through the early part of next week.
A storm system should bring us a period or rain on Monday, and will also help to usher back in more seasonable air for the middle of the week. All in all, no complaints about the weather from Thursday and Friday. Skies were partly to mostly sunny with highs around 50 on Thursday and in the mid 40s on Friday. Pretty nice for this time of year, but the thaw looks to end, at least for a short while, by the middle of next week.
The remainder of the night will be clear with lows around 20. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40s. Sunday will start out clear, but will cloud up as the day goes on in response to a storm system pulling out of the Plains. Highs Sunday near 50. A period of rain is likely on Monday with the high in the low to mid 40s. Showers will continue through Monday night and into Tuesday morning before things start to clear out by afternoon. Highs Tuesday around 40. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30s to near 40. Of course, the late week forecast is a bit out of range for guidance to be united on what will happen. A system in the southwest may try to spread eastward late in the week and give our area a shot of overrunning precip. That could spell a wintry mix for our region. Too far off to be any more specific. Will say that the period from late Thursday through Saturday need to be monitored at this point.
So, another gorgeous January day on tap for the Delaware Valley on Saturday with highs in the mid 40s. Temperatures will approach 50 on Sunday in response to a storm system pulling out of the Plains. A period of rain looks likely on Monday, then things cool off as we approach mid week. Late week needs to be monitored for the *possibility* of wintry weather. That's all for now. Another update will be issued on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend.
