An active few days of weather on tap for the weekend. Guidance continues to show no clear-cut solution for our forecast. Today will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the low 40s. Thursday will feature increasing clouds with a period of rain arriving during the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s to near 40. Rain will redevelop during the day on Friday under mostly cloudy skies. Highs around 40. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with showers likely. High in the mid 40s.
Time is limited for this discussion, so will keep things brief. Another wave of low pressure may develop along the coast late Saturday night. Meanwhile, lowering 5H thicknesses are racing eastward. If the wave does indeed develop, expect a period or rain changing to snow during the day on Sunday. As stated earlier, guidance is divergent in their solutions for the weekend trying to key in on certain upper level features. The GGEM actually has the 2nd wave of Saturday developing off the SE coast and would imply an all snow event for our area late Saturday night into Sunday, while the AVN/MRF says a secondary will develop closer to the Jersey shore allowing a change to snow for a period early Sunday. Needless to say, there are several other solutions being portrayed by the models. More details later tonight.
