Winter is finally here friends, and my flu bug is finally
just about gone. And trust me, it couldn't have come at
a sooner time considering how busy the weather will get the next
few days. Right now, it looks very likely that our area will see
a period of at least some light snow sometime Thursday morning.
A disturbance, or as many call a 'clipper', will traverse
the Rockies and move towards western PA by late tomorrow
night. Thereafter, it will likely shift it's energy towards the
coast and redevelop rather rapidly somewhere around the
DelMarVa Peninsula. It is still too early to be very
specific about snowfall amounts, but as I said earlier,
aperiod of light to possibly moderate snow should break
out by Thursday morning. Most models move the system away fairly
quickly not allowing for major snowfall accumulations, but
places closer to the coast could see more Atlantic moisture
from this sytem andlikely greater snowfall totals. When the
evening runs of the models have finished rolling in, I
shall update again. Until then, keep just keep in mind
that wintry weather will likely encompass our region on
Thursday. Check back later tonight for an update.
