Some areas awoke this morning to some light snow flurry activity which was no big deal, but our first flakes of the season nontheless. Arctic air is gripping the region with temps in the low to mid 30's for highs yesterday and today. An Alberta Clipper will be making it's way east and will pass very close to our region later tonight. There may be a period of light snow tonight beginning after midnight. A dusting to an inch of snow accumulation looks likely, but we are hedging closer to the low side. It seems that when a clipper approaches our region in a similair trajectory (just to our North) most of the precipitation associated with it gets scoured away by the mountains. Accumulations, if any, will be very light. Things will clear out by afternoon Friday and temps will slowly rebound through early next week. It may even hit 50 again by Tuesday. Next system will be arriving between Sunday night and Tuesday. At this point, it does not look like a wintry threat. Drive safely tomorrow if you are heading to work early.
