December 23, 1998 (3:00PM)
Well, the snow began falling lightly here in Secane, Delaware County, shortly after
1:30PM. Because of this, I have increased the snowfall totals slightly as follows. North
and West of Philadelphia:1-3 inches. Philadelphia and points South and East thru Dover
and Atlantic City:2-4 inches. South of there thru at least D.C.:3-5 inches. This is not a
huge storm, but just enough trouble to hinder travel. Snow should become more steady by
9:00PM and remain intermittent through the night. Snow should taper to flurries or snow
showers tomorrow midday and it will remain quite cold with temperatures struggling to get
above freezing again. I will be updating this at some point tonight. Stay tuned to local
weather reports in case of further adjustments to this forecast. Above all, be cautious
when driving in these slick conditions. It only takes a coating for hazardous driving to
occur. Take care.
