Very brief update this AM. Not many changes to add with our forecast from the past few days. Around an inch of snowfall has fallen over Delaware County this AM, with flurries leading to party sunny skies by midday. High temperature around 27F. Winds will be a factor this afternoon with blowing snow and wind chill readings dipping into the single digits. Winds subside tonight with mostly clear skies, ideal conditions for radiational cooling. Expect an overnight low of 4F. Clouds will be on the increase in the morning and early afternoon on Sunday, high temperature around 23F. Then the fun begins.

Guidance has really come around and seems to be trending towards a solid solution. Even our computer model (ETA) that has been forecasting over a foot of snow for the past several runs has come back to earth and is not forecasting the bogus 8-16" of snow Sunday night as it had been. Snowfall will begin after dark Sunday night and will get heavy for a period Sunday night. Low temperature Sunday night 17F. Snow will change to a mix early Monday morning as temperatures rise to near freezing. Total snowfall around 3-6". Most of the precipitation looks to be finished before the changeover, but icing conditions with freezing drizzle are likely throughout the day. We could get another burst of precipitation during the day on Monday with the high around 32F. Another batch of precipitation looks possible Monday night into Tuesday as temperatures begin to drop again in response to low pressure redeveloping off the DelMarVa coastline. More accumulations are possible Monday night into Tuesday.

So, round one Sunday night into monday looks to give us 3-6" of snowfall. Temperatures rise late Sunday night and early Monday and could change our precipitation over to a mix with freezing drizzle likely during the day Monday. Highs around freezing. Another round of precipitation possible Monday night into Tuesday as a coastal low pressure area develops. More updates later tonight and early Sunday. Please check back to see if there are any possible changes.
