Quick update as today's "event" is really not that big of a deal. Periods of light snow will overspread the area this afternoon, high temp arpund 35. Accumulations of less than 1" will be the common story throughout the area. Any snow will end as flurries later tonight. The culprit is another Arctic front racing through our area. This will return temperatures back to well below normal again for Monday, with highs in the mid to upper teens. This air mass may in fact be just a bit colder than what we dealt with on Thursday. A stiff North and Northwest wind will not help matters any as wind chills dive to well below zero. On the bright side, it will be mostly sunny :-)

The remainder of the week looks fair, and we actually pull out of the Tundra-like temperatures by midweek with readings possibly getting into the 40s!! Next threat of wintry weather would be late week into the weekend, but don't you know it . . . things at this time look a bit on the warm side, so a chance for rain or mixed precip seems most likely at this point.

So, in short, bundle up today and Monday. Light snow will be breaking out in the area as the day goes on, less than an inch accumulation expected. Highs will be in the mid 30s today but in the teens for highs on Monday! Enjoy the Super Bowl tonight and drive safely. Take care!
