Just a brief update as to what has been going on here with the website. With the lack of any 'significant' wintry weather thus far this season, I had opted to give the site a break and work on some other projects. Yes, the weather outside is downright frigid and it certainly feels like where we ought to be for this time of year.

However, with that being said, we are now going into "alert" mode as every piece of guidance is suggesting a breakdown of the upper air pattern over North America which in turn helps to track a rather large area of low pressure across the Southern US early next week. This storm has the potential to be a classic Miller A system coming out of the Gulf and redeveloping off the Hatteras due to a massive cold dome of high pressure settling in on the lower 48.

So, not a lot of details to go into tonight, other than a heads up to the potential for a sizeable snowstorm across parts of the region sometime between Monday and Thursday of next week. Stay tuned!
