February 18, 2000(9:30AM)

Snow started here around daybreak this morning and has already accumulated just over an inch in our area. Snow will continue to fall moderately and will become heavy for a period right before the changeover to sleet and freezing rain between 11:30 and 12:00. Total snow accumulations should average between 2 to 4 inches in some spots. I don't expect the sleet and freezing rain to hang around too long, but should be enough on top of the already fallen snow to create very slick driving conditions from now through later this afternoon. Precip will be all rain by 2PM as temperatures rise into the upper 30's. So, after a rough start this morning and early this afternoon, conditions should change for the better. However, driving will still be messy, so take it easy on the roads, especially side streets which may still be ice covered. If any changes are happening, you'll be the first to know. Check back for any updates.
