An area of light snow has overspread the region today and is currently pressing eastward. Snowfall totals should be very light (nothing like last week), with the largest accumulations of perhaps 2 inches from Allentown north and west. Currently, a half inch of snow has fallen in central Delaware County and should continue periodically throughout the night and Friday morning. Accumulations of no more than an inch are likely right in our neck of the woods (Ridley, Upper Darby, Springfield). Again, light snow and flurries will occassionally develop over our area tonight and will shut off by Friday morning. Although accumulations will be very light, use caution driving. Old ice patches from prior storms will be covered by the light snow and unrecognizable, so don't let your guard down. Ice with a light coating of snow on top can often be just as dangerous as black ice (because you really don't see it and know that it is there). Be safe and warm!
