Threat for accumulating snow is increasing for Friday, February 7th. As an area of low pressure forms in the Gulf of Mexico and then redevelops off the North Carolina coast. Temperatures aloft and at the surface appear as though they will be more than cold enough to support snowfall. At this time, it does not appear like a major deal. However, if the upper level trough should go negative tilt (aligned more NW to SE than anything else) snowfall could be significant. Leaning towards a light to moderate (1-4"?) event for the time being. Will fine tune in the next few days, but feel comfortable with that forecast for now. More later tonight. Take care!
