Well, what can I say? I am speechless and stunned at the evolution of this storm. For the PHL area, it is all but over, with toal accumulations of no more than 3". What happened? The storm took a sudden South and East turn at the last second, developed very slowly, and the preip shield was broken and never filled in quickly enough for our area. What was once 'potentially' the biggest storm for PHL in many, many years is now looking more and more like the biggest busted forecast for some of the major cities in the Northeast in just as many years. Snow showers and another burst or two of heavier snow can be expected for the area this afternoon.
Otherwise cloudy with highs in the low to mid 30s. Tonight will be cloudy with a snow shower or two. Little additional accumulation expected. Lows around 25. Tuesday will be windy with a period or two of snow. Additional accumulation of up to an inch is possible. Highs around freezing. Tuesday night will be cloudy and windy with a snow shower or flurry. Low in the low to mid 20s.
Things begin to clear out by Wednesday under partly sunny skies. Highs around 40. Winds will diminish. Partly to mostly cloudy on Thursday with highs in the lower 40s.
Yes, we are tracking yet another potential winter storm for our area late in the week. As for now, will leave it mostly cloudy Friday with the chance for rain. Highs around 40. Saturday, a chance of rain or showers, highs in the mid 40s.
So, all in all, a major bust for many of the major cities in the Northeast including NYC. Areas North and West of Boston may very well be measuring in feet (yes, that was OUR storm just 24 hours ago). But for us, no more that 3" of snow for the remainder of the day through Wednesday morning. March has certainly arrived like a lion, so winter is not over yet, that's for sure. Take care!
